The Summer Workshops at the Portuguese Catholic University's School of Art – Olhares de Outono – propose in 2004 a wide set of Workshops, Conferences, Master-Classes and premier events.
Resembling previous editions the workshops aim to stimulate, in a consequent way, the qualification and knowledge within the community of researchers and Artist working in Portugal at the field of Digital Arts.
The impact of realizing these advanced formation activities, is already acknowledged by the Artistic and Scientific community due to its role at the level of internationalization as well as by promoting the Excellency on the work produced in Portugal over the last few years.
As a consequence we modestly underline the recent highlights and success which as been achieved in the international scene by the Portuguese Artistic work and Research.
Following the previous Summer Workshops in its essence, this year a special attention is dedicated to the topic of Digital Performative Arts, focusing the Workshops, Conferences and other activities on the issues raised by the notion of performance, representation and interaction with the audience. If for one hand the main mission of these Workshops is to transmit knowledge which conveys the results of the most recent research carried out in Portugal, on the other hand it also aims to approach the scientific community and the general audiences, by the means of realizing a broad spectrum of Scientific and Artistic events. This strategy allows us to fulfill the initial propose of this project addressing a broad and general target audience. By reinforcing the realization of Scientific and Artistic events in 2004, a door is opened to the common citizen into a place where he can participate interactively and apprehend the specificity of the presented proposal, as well as a global overview of such an unique alliance between Science and Art.
